Three Michigan State University students were killed and five were injured in a shooting Monday night at two campus locations, police said.

The wounded students remain in critical condition, according to the university. 

The attack at the large university located in East Lansing, Michigan, was the 67th mass shooting in 2023, according togun violence data, and came just hours before the  five-year anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida
