Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Wednesday linked her son's domestic violence arrest to President Barack Obama's treatment of veterans.

"My son, like so many others, they come back a bit different. They come back hardened, they come back wondering if there's that respect for what it is their fellow soldiers and airmen and every other member of the military have so sacrificially given to this country," Palin said, adding that she can "relate with other families who can feel these ramifications of PTSD and some of the woundedness our soldiers do return with."

Of course no blame for the President and VP who started the war in the first place.

Two other points.

Track had trouble with the law going back to his high school days. He and a bunch of guys he palled around with, they too cut the brake lines on a school bus.

How long was Track in the military and what were his duties?

It's very hard to find exact information, but it is alleged that he was assigned the job of protecting his superior officers.

Re: Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

That can't be true, don't we all know that Republicans always take complete responsibility for their actions!  Where was the President when Bristol got pregnant both times, maybe she can blame him for that too.  Sarah Palin has no shame, just who has raised her children, it certainly wasn't her, she's been too busy chasing fame.

Re: Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

Track was given the choice of jail or the military due to his "boys will be boys" behavior when he disabled the school busses. He opted for the military. Perhaps jail would have been a better choice.

Seems all her kids have problems. I guess it never occured to her that it could be her poor parenting skills.

Re: Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

The allegations by Palin against the president contradict with the details in question.

Palin blames Obama for her son's actions and his possible PTSD that he suffered as a result of spending time in Iraq.

However, Track Palin was a part of Alaska's 25th Infantry Division's 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team that served in Iraq for one year in 2008.

While honorable, the time he spent in Iraq that Palin claims caused his PTSD was under the orders of then President George W. Bush, and not President Barack Obama, as reported by NBC News.

Since that time, Track Palin has been in numerous run-ins with the law, include a massive brawl at a house party in Anchorage, Alaska in 2014.

No charges were filed, but CNN notes that Track attempted to start a fight with his father, Todd, and was described as being "heavily intoxicated" and "belligerent."

Re: Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

Bill Maher Trashes Palin: ‘Obamas Are Just So Much Better Parents’ Than Her.

Bill Maher really went off on Sarah Palin tonight for suggesting a connection between her son’s domestic abuse arrest and President Obama‘s treatment of America’s veterans.

Maher snarked, “That’s why I’m sure his girlfriend was cowering under the bed, because of Obama.”

He brought up Bristol Palin having two children out of wedlock and asked, “Does it ever occur to anybody that the Obamas are just so much better parents?”

Liz Mair praised the president as an “amazing father” who sets a great example for all parents.

Maher went back to Palin and cried, “She’s the worst!”

“It’s the most morally sloppy person,” he said, “going to Iowa to convince the Evangelicals… to vote.”

Re: Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

Palin blames Obama for veterans not being able to get the help they need for PTSD.  The thing is it is her fellow republicans that have consistently voted down bills that would help provide more services for them.It is the republicans in our legislative branch who have failed our veterans not the president.

Re: Sarah Blames Obama For Track's Problems

Very good point, Need. She should be ashamed of using a very real problem as an excuse for her son's deplorable behavior; Im sure we wouldn't have heard about Track's "changes" if it weren't for his domestic violence penchant brought to light.

I hope he gets some help if he is truly in need of it. I think the whole family could use a timeout, and some counseling, but thats maybe just me.

Need's post made me think. It seems ( to me) Sarah honestly truly inherently at the core of her psyche NEEDS attention and a spotlight and a platform. I think it would be nice if she'd quit making herself a laughingstock with her crazyass screeches and speeches and focused her sizeable fanbase, small fortune, and bountiful energy on PTSD and lobbying Congress and anyone else who will listen for veterans rights. That would make her truly admirable, IMO and maybe she could do some good. I dont see her future in serious politics as I dont think she is taken seriously by many. Dunno, as I said, I was pondering Need's post last night while falling asleep.

Which leads me to another point, I enjoy posting with all kinds of people with all kinds of views; political and social. Thats why I post on here and at the NewView board. I hope that everyone here and there is cool with that. I am going to try and stay out of any threads regarding personal hard feelings, as everyone reading this from ( all 3, LOL) boards knows, Im not in the habit of joining a clique, or a PM group. Its not that I am holier than thou, I just dont want to engage in fighting, had enough of that for a while. When I was booted from View's board I missed posting with a lot of you, conserv and liberal, and now I have a chance to do it again. I just wanted to say thanks, I appreciate the discussions.

No fan of Maureen Dowd; however, she posted a great editorial on this subject in the Sunday NYTimes.
