Hi everyone
SEC here!! I have been different versions of that name on the old View MB & was never allowed on the refugee board...Boo Hoo!!!
I live outside of Atlanta & three years ago took an indefinite leave from my jobs to care for my baby sister who was battling cancer..I have recently made the decision to turn the leave into retirement. I started posting on the View MB back in 2008 and took a sabatical in 2012. My username comes from my love of SEC football... As some know, I have a passion for the law & have attended hundreds of trials just because!!! lol.. I also love politics, music, family and using this emoticon
Thank you spunky.
Hi SEC,
You inspire me with how you cared for your baby sister. I know from the old board that she passed and may she Rest in Peace. I had a similar experience with my mom and am forever grateful that I could be there for her.
Me, I am originally from CT but have lived in Boston MA the majority of my adult life. I think of Boston as my home. My SO and I have been together for 20+ years and have two adopted boys and four small grandkids (all boys). We are a rainbow family with Latina, Italian, African American, Irish, English and whatever else we don't know about.
I am not surprised that you have a passion for law, it is evident in your posts. My SO is a state police officer and I have worked in law enforcement for years. TMI
I have enjoyed the rhetoric on the view mb, minus the nonsence, and look forward to intelligent dialogue.

Hello Possums!
Excuse my vanity, but for better or worse, I doubt anyone would not know me.
I'm grateful for the forum and the invitation to join.
Tomorrow, I will post what happened to me on the viewrefugee board.
I doubt my case will be unique.
The only thing I ask of the new administrator is to please let me know if I'm doing something wrong and give me a warning before banning me.
OMG Dolly!! where have you been?..Dori has been putting in extra hours to try to find you...she will be as thrilled as am I.
And welcome HOME!! Finally!
Final note: I thought they were holding you hostage...and that we would have to rush in to save you!
Actually, it was through Dori that I got here,
I'm going to post about my last night on the refugee board and I'll explain there.

Dolly, when you check in tomorrow, could you please give a brief introduction...I am embarrassed to say this, but as long as I have been posting, I must have missed you when you first started posting & even though I love many of your posts, sometimes I'm confused...I think you're a man, but I'm not certain but I certainly would like to get to know you...please help me out!
When I first came on to the original View MB as with many others, it was by accident.
When I was still teaching, I used to watch "The View" mostly in the summer or during holiday breaks.
After I retired, I began to watch more frequently and noticed how the show was going down hill, especially with the addition of Sherri and EH.
I tried to e-mail ABC with my opinion and stumbled on the mb; until then I didn't know what a message board was.
After posting some negative comments about Sherri, I began to get smart ass remarks from a poster many will remember..."Awesome Jeff 43", who was a rabid fan of Sherri's, as well as a narcissist with an ego as big as Trump's
At first I ignored it, but them the devil got the best of me.
I began to "play with his head" and he fell for it hook, line and sinker.
I invented a history involving the two of us that included a previous friendship when we both lived in Boise.
The rest, as they say is history.
I could go on for days with some of the exchanges we had, but to sum up how badly I got to him, he told me he hoped I got run over by a bus.
Ah! Those were the fun days.
Concerning my personal background, I've been involved with music since the 8th grade.
My father was a drummer and a singer in a dance band and hoped I would turn out to do the same, except on the saxophone, possibly my least favorite instrument.
My mother was the proverbial stage mother.
She had plans for me.
It started with tap dancing lessons. She was a great fan of Lawrence Welk and envisioned me as Bobby Burgess's replacement after she had him rubbed out.
(I actually did appear on a local TV talent show several times and even auditioned for the "Ted Mack Amateur Hour".)
Those hopes died when in no particular order, I had gained quite a bit of weight, had a bicycle accident and broke my ankle and my sister was born.
It was then that I decided to take up the piano.
The Catholic school I attended was run by four nuns belonging to the order of The Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM).
Four women teaching all subjects to students in grades 1 to 8.
How they did it, I'll never know.
I began my studies with Sister Irene Regina and progressed rapidly.
Unlike most kids who have to be forced to practice, I had to be forced to stop practicing.
My next goal was to become a church organist, which led me to music school where I majored in Music Education with organ and piano being my main instruments.
I'll make the rest short.
I beacme a music teacher and taught grades K-12 for 35 years.
I gave private lessons for a time and served as Director of Music and organist for both the Episopal and Lutheran church, which I continue to this day.
Now, as for my user name.
Dolly is short for Adolphus Longstaff (male).
I often mention my partner of 35 years, Burgo Fitzgerald.
Both colorful characters from a novel by Anthony Trollope.
Burgo and I have many interests.
We're excited by opera, theater, classic movies, gourmet food, travel, collecting antiques and many other things that cost money.
I look forward to posting here. I'm mainly interested in politics ( a die hard liberal), so if any of you happen to be Republicans, please don't take offense. Most of what I post is posted with tongue firmly planted in cheek and meant to get a rise out of you.

Thank you so much Dolly. I feel like I really know you now & can now fully understand & appreciate your sense of humor as well as your thought provoking comments.
It's amazing how much many of us have in common..I too attended Catholic school. Our nuns were the Vincentian Sisters of Charity and I too, had a strong interest in music. My instrument is my voice and I have been in various choirs, mostly Interdenominational gospel choirs over the years.
I look forward to posting with you and not around you finally since there is no Steve here threatening to ban us if we post to you.

Dolly, As crazy as the Jeff thing ended up, I had some serious belly laughs watching you respond to him & then reading his unhinged responses. He just made it waaay too easy for you. He did not like me at all & I really have no clue as to why. I guess, because I couldn't help but laugh at your sense of humor? Anyway, love that you are here!

I howled at the exchanges between Dolly and Jeff. Wasn't there something about a fur codpiece or thong at one point? Dolly played Jeff like a marionette, but boy did he ever ask for it. Good times.

Hi cindy,
You must be confusing me with Jeff. He and Andy used to name call day after day.
I avoided Andy like the plague, a hateful person.
