 I have never heard "gap year" said before and I think there is another reason as I stated in my first post why she took off a year.  I heard more from Cruz's two small daughters than I heard in 7 1/2 years from Obama's daughters.  Don't know anything about them and that's fine, they won't be around much longer and didn't see them much in over 7 years other than getting off planes.

I say: In the 7 1/2 years the Obamas have been in the WH, there has never been one instance of misbehavior on the part of either of the girls.
The closest the haters came was to accuse Malia of having a smirk on her face during the turkey pardoning ceremony.

Of course you heard more from from the Cruz children in the past months. First of all, they're under 8 years old, kids that age talk a lot especially when they're being used as props on the campaign trail.

As far as Bristol Palin and Malia, there is no comparison.
Bristol got knocked up once while earning hundreds of thousands of dollars for promoting abstinence only and a second time for not practicing abstinence.

IMO that deserves criticism.

As far as comparing the Palin's parenting skills to the Obama's...well, there simply is none.
