Anybody here doing this thing? Got kids or grandkids doing this thing? I must have been under a rock for the first wave and now all I am seeing is pictures of idiots getting hurt and going places they are not supposed to be all because they are playing this game? Help explain if you can? Please?

According to my son(s)..It seems that people are downloading this game onto their phones...and playing it while walking and not really watching where they step. People are walking into poles, pot holes and in some cases. some have even been mugged!

Some chick found a dead body looking for a water "creature" WTF? I'm all for getting the kids outside (kids LOLOL) but they are still looking at the damn phone. I googled the game to see what it was LOL It must have been born after my kid passed that age. We ere in The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle years LOL

The app allows smartphone users to chase and attempt to catch Pokemon characters in public places as they appear in locations on their phone screens. When in the presence of a virtual Pokemon, the player's phone will vibrate, and the Pokemon can be captured by throwing a virtual "Pokeball" at the target.
There is also the fear that pedophiles could use that feature to lure children into a trap. With that in mind, they conducted an experiment using the lure feature, and sure enough several children arrived at the location within moments.

I think it is a great concept, but unfortunately ppl are ruining the fun for others. If I were a kid I would love this! In this atmosphere I would not let my kid do this alone.

We downloaded POKEMON GO for our two oldest grandsons. As with other online games my SO and I had to review and approve or not as to their suitable for the kids.
Holy Moly, this game is so much fun and we decided to keep it for ourselves! Definitely not suitable for the babies
Ran around the city following POKEMON GO on our SmartPhones trying to catch Pokemon, no shit. When you encounter a wild Pokemon you can enable a view to display real-life surroundings. Really cool and when you find the ultimate Pokemon you are surrounded by other people with the same mission and you make new friends and bond over Pokemon. Sounds a bit corny, which it probably is, but worth the experience. Don't judge before you try it. A really good diversion from stress and a chance to just laugh and meet new people. So not appropriate for the grandbabies, at least for now.
