Re: #manypeoplearesaying

There are too many failed or low standard Trump projects to list here, but here are some:

1. WASHOUT AT JONES BEACH.... NYT 12/30/12  Last week Mr. Trump and the state parks commissioner, Rose Harvey, announced the death of Trump on the Ocean, the $24-million project and branding opportunity that Mr. Trump had been trying to build at Jones Beach since 2006. Because of the October storm, which wrecked the construction site, and the probability of future storms, it became obvious that building a huge new structure at the water’s edge was “not prudent,” Ms. Harvey said in a statement. But the project was never prudent — not now and not in 2006, when Mr. Trump and his partner Steven Carl, a Long Island businessman, struck the deal. The terms then were bad — a 40-year lease at ridiculously cheap rent.
(The property is now left in shambles but the beach is still beautiful) They tore down an Art Decco styled bldg and now there is nothing there.
2. RIVERSIDE SOUTH
Development of the rail yard site generated considerable community opposition. Trump's 1970s-era proposal was opposed and failed to gain traction. In 1982, Lincoln West, a much smaller project, was approved with community support, but the developers failed to obtain financing. Planning for the current project began in the late 1980s. The project was originally designed to include 16 apartment buildings with a maximum of 5,700 residential units, 1,800,000 square feet (170,000 m2) of studio space, 300,000 square feet (30,000 m2) of office space, ancillary retail space, and a 25-acre (10 ha) waterfront park.Trump sold Riverside South to investors from Hong Kong and China, who, began construction in 1997. In 2005, the investors sold the remaining unfinished portions to the Carlyle Group and the Extell Development Company.
(Mr. Piggy built these right in front of older buildings...renters or coop owners who had lived there for YEARS....completely blocked their view of the Hudson which is a big deal. Not only that but an exit was closed from the Westside Highway which means drivers are diverted up to 79th Street. And I hear the apartments aren't "all that". These ultra-Trump buildings are blocking beautiful classic structures.)

So, so many more bad projects. They can also be Googled under failed Trump projects. They range from Miami to Dubai.
