Good evening all......I took today off from work and am sooo happy I did. I am still aching. You may be sick of hearing about the March but I thought I would just write this note....maybe for myself? Lol.

We left NY about 5:30am and got to DC before noon. Didn't get too close to the rally, could hear some speeches, but it was all about showing up.    We walked  miles with thousands of others from Howard University, where the bus dropped us off, to the National Mall.  (We took a bus instead of Metro). Police were friendly and polite.Crowd was well behaved, serious, and sober.
No one's phones worked.  No one complained, pushed or was obnoxious. People were in good spirits.   Around 2 we started to move slowly, very slowly.  Capitol Bldg and Washington Monument in view, at each end.  That was great.   Signs were great-- varied and creative.   There were several men at the March, but of course a higher % of  women, many with the hat of the day.  [Funny looking, if you ask me, but I got used to it.]  Apart from the severe dislike of DT,  the other concern of everyone was finding a bathroom.  I found out  I wasn't the only one who didnt drink a coffee in the morning.
Again, happy I went because I feel better knowing that so many from other parts of the country, have the same feelings I do. I still feel very concerned for our culture and country and world.   But the demeanor of crowd made me feel that I wasn't alone, and that you don't have to be an extreme lefty to attend a march or get involved.

Hi zeke. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. It made us all feel more like we were part of the March because you were representing us!

I am so happy the Marches were peaceful.  Women know how to protest peacefully!
I am also glad that the most common denominator was the dislike of Donald Trump.  Good to know that we are not alone. I feel like I am not sure about anything these days so nice to hear that many others know how bad trump is for America.

Did you take any pics? I can not even imagine being in a crowd that large. Yes, finding a restroom would be a major concern for me also. I do have one question. An acquaintance of mine on FB posted a picture of lots of trash left in the street (mostly protest signs) along the March route. Yes she's a Conservative & was just looking for anything negative to post. Someone else suggested that the protestors might have been asked to leave their signs like that for safety reasons.  Do you know anything about that? I just wanted to be able to address this woman's "concerns" with a factual account from someone who was there.  Conservatives drive me nuts. Another Conservative woman called the March a "bitchfest".  I kind of went off on her & said she must have been a supporter of Phyllis Schlafly.  Now I never even knew who that woman was until I started posting on MB's a few years ago. It just blows me away that any woman could share that viewpoint. Talk about being brain washed.

Thanks again for sharing zeke. You are our hero!

Sam.... this is the best MB. So many have good hearts here because they are full of love.
I saw that some people had left signs along the way but that's typical of any march. There were no areas with litter strewn along the streets...None.
There was no bitching going on. These were intelligent women and men who spoke well about legitimate  issues and concerns. And guess what. There were a lot of young adults and families with young kids. And white, black, dark brown, light brown, and yellow people. It was a thing of beauty.

Thanks for representing all of us!  Unfortunately, Trump has managed to create a distraction to get attention away from all the great women coming together.  You are a perfect example of what is great about this country.
