So cool!
This huge caterpillar is a cercopia moth! I have had a ton of them this year! Just love the colors & the size is huge! 
As you can see it hungout with me for a bit & then I put it in the plum tree next to my patio. This is what I found the next day
This is what I should find next June. They are bigger than my hand!
I will not kneel before Zod.

What a beautiful butterfly! I hope he emerges like that in the spring.
We have a butterfly conservatory on the Niagara Parkway and it is one of my favourite places to go in the spring. My kids love one particular type we call the 'batman butterfly' because it really looks like the Bat Signal in yellow and black. I'll have to try to find a pic.
If you ever come to the Falls check it out! We also have a beautiful aviary, botanical gardens, a floral clock, a reptile museum, and the beautiful natural gorge for hiking. (All of which are much nicer than any of the tourist traps.)
