Nine people have died since last week trying to climb Mount Everest. I know there are people who have dreams to fulfill in life, but as a person who almost lost my life to cancer, I find it troubling (to put it nicely) when people have so little regard for how precious life is. It's kind of sad that their lives just aren't exciting enough for them, they have to put themselves in danger in order to feel alive. There are so many people out there who would give absolutely anything to live just one more day, and these people are willing to risk everything for the fleeting thrill of climbing a stupid mountain. I'm sure there are those who don't agree with me, but it's something that just makes me angry. I think they've also just thrown their families away.

I agree...always believing/thinking that nothing bad will happen to them....smh
And as you well know surviving cancer is like winning a war. It makes you realize the real meaning of true freedom in life.
Those people that take these unnecessary risks never learned the true meaning of survival...

I'm not a thrill junkie unless it's about roller coasters. I don't understand why some people need to climb a dangerous mountain that's claimed so many lives. I also don't understand how those climbers can walk past fellow climbers who are near death or in great distress due to the elements. Seeing photos of the bodies on that mountain is enough for me.
