David Ortiz, former Boston Red Sox player, was shot during an ambush Sunday night in his native Dominican Republic.  He was at a local nightclub when the shooter got off his motorcycle, walked up to him and shot him close-range in the back.  He went through surgery and is in stable condition.  The alleged gunman was captured and beaten by a crowd of people at the bar, when he recovers from his injuries, the police will question him to determine whether Ortiz was the real target of the attack.
