Trump's comments about Medicare

How well do you think Trump's possible stance of replacing Medicare with health savings plans will go over with America's largest voting block?  Most don't like their Medicare or SS messed with. Trump was discussing this on Stephanopoulis this morning.

Re: Trump's comments about Medicare

I'm sorry I missed that ,he does have some good points in interviews where he talks about what he believes not what he thinks of people! Dont throw anything I just like to catch all of them  and hear what they have to say,he needs to stop spouting off nonsence and discuss issues! Ive seen one and had to agree with his take on government abuse of spending and the fact that we spend millions for our soldiers to protect other countries and they dont contribute anything! other than that he cant possibly deal with leaders of other countries with his attitude of ,if you dont agree with me "Your Fired!"    LOL

I don't have confidence that Donald Trump really knows what he is talking about.

I agree Dori.  Trump does NOT have a way with words.  He does, however, raise topics that need to be talked about and addressed, whether or not one agrees with his take on things.  The issues themselves have been ignored or stuffed down fo a long time.  For that I will certainly give him credit.

I agree retiredfa.  He seems to be doing a good job of keeping important issues that are normally ingnored part of the conversation.

As far as Tump's knowledge, I don't think one can become a billion dollar business man and not know anything.

While I agree he has talking points, I have not heard anything from him beyond talking points.  He likes to say things are a HUGE this or that and that he is loved by so and so but I have yet to hear anything substantive.

There are many successful businessmen ~~  some may not have had as many companies that filled bankruptcy.   To me that does not translate to be a successfull world leader.

did he say what's in his "health saving plans"  because that like everything else he say, but really don't have a plan ask him what's end it, and what do he say " I'll get back with you or change the subject"

Ppl are amazing, but not always in a good way.

I didn't say a billion dollar businessman necessarily translates to world leader,  I was talking about his knowledge.

Re: Trump's comments about Medicare

I agree ,he may be a lot of things but being dumb isnt one of them!  He knew how to get attention and he also knew negative attention was better than none! He picked up on what people were feeling and ran with it! Sometimes in life it takes more than just "book smarts".altho you dont achieve much without them, knowing how to play the game ,so to speak is essential! And hes a pro at that!

Re: Trump's comments about Medicare

Trump inherited his money, risked it, protected his assets while allowing his hotels to go bankrupt & others to get burned. Intelligent? Yes like a corvid exploiting the misfortune of others. He is cunning, which is not an attribute that is respected by most. Neither is Trump. As far as him saying things others are ignoring please for the love of the uiverse someone elaborate on this!!!!! As far as I know he has only chosen to rile ppl up over ongoing issues, such as immigration. Are ppl saying he's talking about things others don't truly expect us to believe no other candidate in the past 30 years has brought up immigration while on the campaign trail? No other candidate speaks on economy? No other candidate discusses security? Those touting Trump's talking points are either lying or haven't been paying attention for the last 15yrs. The man has said absolutely nothing new or rational so far. He has no idea how gov works & what little plans he has set forth reveal just how ignorant he regarding gov. Do we really want this man playing with our tax money? Remember Trump ruined a lot of businesses while protecting himself. That is who Trump is, just name to be sold & slapped on buildings. I would bet he is dreaming of putting a giant gold Trump sign on the WH! The man is so tacky!

Except this time it won't be just casinos and hotels that get financially ruined under him.

He'll be bombing oil fields, sending young men and women back into warzones in the middle east, building walls he can't pay for, and sending 11 million plus people back to (in some cases) war-torn countries while stripping away the birthright status of some America's youngest and most defenseless citizens, and removing millions of people from the health insurance system with no viable alternative to allow them to afford basic health care.

But I still want him to get the nomination because I know Hillary will crush him in the national election, the debates with Hillary would be EPIC entertainment, and I want to see him fail on a grand stage, not just on the GOP side.

I totally agree Vantro!

Donald Trump does know how to manipulate the system.  He also knows how to manipulate the press. But he has not discussed any issues in depth or laid out any plans as to how he would change the things he claims to want to change. He just makes these big broad statements that rile people up. It is entertaining (somewhat) but it is also frightening that so many people think this guy is Presidential. To me, he is a joke.

Re: Trump's comments about Medicare

I think that is because he really doesn't have enough knowledge of the government and the issues he is talking about.  Running a government is very different than running a private business.  I agree Trump is a joke.

Re: Trump's comments about Medicare

I agree Need, DT is a joke...has claimed bankruptcy at least 4 times.

He screws with people's money and literally walks away unscathed. Doesn't give a shit about anyone,

Yes...he knows nothing about anything....a total joke...and the scary part is that SOME still defend him

Re: Trump's comments about Medicare

I think his knowledged of government became pretty obvious at the last debate when they finally started talking about actual policy.  He said about TWO words ~~HUGE and LOVE.

He was absolutely silent on the foreign policy issues during the last hour. Either he was pooped from standing for so long without his gold slippers, or he is really weak on these issues. I think it is a combination of the two.

I expect him to be much better versed on foreign policy during the debate this week. He messed up on the radio interview re: the Quds, and showed his ignorance. But he's a clever man and it shouldn't take him long to get up to speed on the main issues. It's his debate to lose.
