I had 70 trick or treat-ers in 30 min! At that point, I ran out of treats, so I turned out the lights and went out for dinner! In the last group to come--a group of kids that looked to be maybe 8 years old--the first kid stood there with his bag open after I gave the other 3 their treats. I said, "I just gave you one." He said, "I don't like that kind." There was an adult with the group who said nothing. I would never have allowed my child, at that age, to say something like that. I may have been out of line, but I said, "isn't that a little bit ungrateful?" as I took the treat out of his bag, and threw different one in. Had the kid been maybe 4, I would have thought nothing of it.
what do you think? what would you have done?

Wow, today's kids feel so entitled! I'm not sure what I would have done, I sure know what I'd like to do, close the door in his face, but I usually don't like to rock the boat.

Ok. I didn't want to answer this because I've been feeling like a meanie lately but here's what I would have done..............
I would have taken back the treat and said......Oh, ok....then you don't have to eat that if you don't like it........ And I would have turned my back and walked back into the house.
I know that seems mean, but I am now of the age where I don't have to take any..........not even from a kid. No......especially from a kid!!!!

LOL! I would have loved doing that! But I wish I would have said, with a sweet, kind voice, "usually when someone gives you something nice, whether you like it or not, you say thank you. That's what nice children do!" and then just left the treat in his bag and turned my back.
