Sorry, senator, but Floridians sent you to Washington to do a job.
We've got serious problems with clogged highways, eroding beaches, flat Social Security checks and people who want to shut down the government.
If you hate your job, senator, follow the honorable lead of House Speaker John Boehner and resign it.
Let us elect someone who wants to be there and earn an honest dollar for an honest day's work.
Don't leave us without one of our two representatives in the Senate for the next 15 months or so.
You are paid $174,000 per year to represent us, to fight for us, to solve our problems.
Plus you take a $10,000 federal subsidy — declined by some in the Senate — to participate in one of the Obamacare health plans, though you are a big critic of Obamacare.
You are ripping us off, senator.

Rubio really worries me, so I'm glad to see him getting called out on this. His argument was really weak. Basically, he doesn't like the senate job so he doesn't go very often. I hope they go after him about this tonight.

Yes.....This was the subject on one of my radio shows this morning. He has missed many votes in the senate and he thinks nothing of it. I think he said they were not important votes.
He won't make it through this time but he is young and not going away. Rubio is in it for the long haul. I don't like him.

Wow...he gets 174,000 a year to do nothing....I sure do hope someone brings it up tonight...I'll just read about it because I won't be watching...
I'm still waiting to find that one candidate that I can vote for....OR I just won't vote...then I won't feel bad or responsible for what they do..

If I'm not mistaken, Obama missed many votes in his short time as Senator.

He sure did, but I think Rubio is trying to avoid comparisons to Obama.
I don't think "Thanks Obama" will work for him.

He did, and the Repubs crucified him for it.

The debate moderator just tried to crucify Rubio for it and he schooled her big time.

I don't think he schooled her. The best he could do was say "Obama and Kerry did it too! Why is the paper from my state picking on me?"
I guess we'll find out soon enough if he got schooled or gave the schooling.

What did you hear him say in response to the question about his abysmal attendance?

Why?
I will be nice and assume because that is basically what was said.

Rubio said that the country’s problems were too significant for him to wait around, finish his term, and run for president in the future. I agree with him and I'm sure Obama can appreciate that answer.
Then after Bush tried to slam him for not showing up to work, Rubio said I don’t remember you ever complaining about John McCain’s voting record.
Any candidate running for President is going to be absent from their job whether it's Governor or Senator so I;m not sure why the Florida paper questioned him on it or why it was so important to bring up in the debate tonight. Considering the short time they have and the large number of candidates on the stage, the moderators sure aren't using their time wisely.
