The decision by the Facebook Oversight Board to uphold Donald rump's ban from the social media behemoth was immediately celebrated by opponents of the the former President, who saw the ruling as another step to putting him in the rear view mirror of our politics and our culture.

Without the oxygen provided to him by Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, which de-platformed the rump days after the January 6 riot, the rump won't be able to continue to poison the body politics with lies about the 2020 election (among other things).
