=11pxWe got some very sad news. Last year an ex-colleague of my husband was killed by a grizzly. The bear broke into their house and attacked her and chased her outside continuing to maul her. Her husband shot the bear, killing it, and rushed her to the medical station but she did not survive. As if this were not tragic enough the coroner's report revealed that she did not die because of injuries from the bear attack but from a bullet fired by her husband that ricocheted off a branch, hitting her in the chest. He is devastated and I was very surprised at some of the nasty comments in the newspaper. He was trying to save her and this was a cruel, cruel twist of fate. I feel so terribly sad for him.

Oh my goodness, I read about this in the paper and I thought it was just so tragic. How could people be so cruel? The husband was obviously doing everything he could to save her. So incredibly sad.
I was just reading about the Van da Vorst family who were killed by a drunk driver in Saskatoon on the weekend. I couldn't help but think about my own family and how cruel fate can be.

That is awful, Sunny. That poor man. He was trying to save his wife & fate dealt him an awful blow. I hope he has a lot of support from friends & family.
Yes, some people are so very cruel and judgmental. I look at the intent of what he was trying to do, not the outcome. He must have been frantic in that moment.

Another terrible tragedy. Makes you think for sure - and appreciate what you have.

Frantic and terrified but he did not run away or try to save himself. He tried to save her. I have been bitten by dogs, cats, horses, geese, babies, goats, mosquitoes, rabbits, teenagers, etc etc (mostly my own fault) and I would rather my husband shoot me directly than let me die by grizzly.
