David Bowie
I was so sad to wake up this morning to the news that David Bowie has passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer. The 69 year old Rock God had just released his final album, "Blackstar" last week. He kept his battle with cancer private, so this is a shock to many long time loyal fans.
RIP David Bowie. Thank you for all the years of entertainment. You will never be forgotten.

WOW. What a shocker. This is the first I've heard of it. So sad. I think his daughter is just a teenager.

Back in my salad days, some college friends and I we're lucky enough to see Bowie live (twice), at the old Tower Theater in Upper Darby and if I remember correctly, the Spectrum in Philadelphia.

I have read that it was liver cancer, and that he was given the diagnosis 18 months ago. CNN reported that he was still actively trying new treatments and was upbeat as recently as a few weeks ago.
I really have to respect the way he went out, with privacy and dignity. I'm going to have to get that CD he released on Friday.
