Gov. Greg Abbott calls for a convention of states to amend the Constitution during a speech at the Texas Public Policy Foundation in Austin, Texas, Friday, Jan. 8, 2016.
Abbott called on Texas to take the lead in pushing for constitutional amendments that would give states power to ignore federal laws and override decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.

What the leadership in Texas doesn't seem to understand is the entire legislature would have to vote on that and the president would have to sign the bill. Right now that isn't going to happen. I am all in favor of them seceding from the Union if they don't want to be part of it anymore. I say let them go.
