The historic House GOP freshman class of 2010 stormed Washington with a mandate to roll back President Obama’s agenda.
“It didn’t quite move as fast as we thought it would. People came to do something and, quite frankly, very little has been accomplished,” said Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.).
Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas):“You come in and you suddenly realize you’re 1/435th of one-third of the government, you’ve got people calling you all sorts of names on Twitter that they wouldn’t say in church, and your kids take it hard,”
“When we got elected, I do not think we had a full appreciation for the difficulty of getting everything done that we wanted to when we ran,” explained Rep. Bill Flores, another Texas Republican elected in 2010.

The thing is the republicans didn't strive to get anything done. The strove to prevent anything from getting done so as to keep Obama from being successful. That has been their strategy from the get go. It didn't work at all.

They're a little late to the party. The last 2 crops of young rogue conservative legislators has been a fail.

Those same feelings have been felt by Obama with accomplishing what he wants. He complains about it in every speech.
IMO all in Washington have been a big fail.

IMO, Obama has accomplished much more than I would have expected, considering the hostility he faced.
Nothing like trying to compromise with people who declare on your first day in office that their NUMBER ONE GOAL was to make you a one term president.
They even failed at that.
Caribou, I have to ask, do you think the GOP controlled congress has accomplished anything these past seven years?

Dolly, I don't see where Obama tried to compromise with Congress on anything.
To answer your question, no. They didn't accomplish much that I was hoping they would. They didn't put forth any replacement bills for the ACA and Obama had already said he would veto any bills to come across his desk. Obama wanted productivity then threatens to veto if it's not what he wants. Congress promises action on immigration and we are still with no solutions.
Like I said, all in Washington have failed.

what about all those jobs the class 2010 ran on? and how much did it cost us to try and repeal ACA 1 zillion times? any how many times are we going to re-do Benghazi with different lead counsel? what a waste.

Hasn't there been great job growth since 2010? At least that is what is being reported.

All I know is that when Bush left office we were losing 400,000 jobs a month.
Yes or no?

That is true, Caribou. But as Dolly asked, how can those jobs be attributed to the class of 2010? Im pretty sure they would be taking responsibility for it, if it were true. Instead, all I hear from Conservatives is that the job rate has not increased and Obama is fudging the unemployment numbers.

President Barack Obama. Again, which elected tea party member initiated policies which improved job growth? That was the discussion, the TP. The TP candidates were elected because they promised jobs. Plain & simple.

Can you imagine the growth if those teapublicans had been on board to help the country instead of just trying to stick it to Obama. They still try to push the same lies about how poorly the country is doing. And then there is Trump...if anything, it speaks volumes about what the conservatives stand for.

The tp will never work with anyone. They have flat out said they aren't going to compromise on anything. The voters are pretty messed up IMO. They elected the TP because of their defiant "take back the country" attitude they sold. For some reason those voters like anger & prefer it over solutions. Seriously, if those types of voters wanted solution, instead of arrogant defiance then DT would slither back under a rock.

Let's face it, the TP was never going to be happy until it was all white Christians in charge.

I was being facetious Esm. lol Like Dolly said, we were losing jobs at a rapid rate which contributed to the economic disaster. Once the bleeding slowed down and business owners were feeling confident with the stabilizing of the downward spiral, they slowly started filling those jobs again. The millions of jobs that were 'added' weren't added, they were the jobs that were lost to begin with.
I do believe that the number of people that no longer work or decided not to go back to work after the recession are not being calculated in the employment numbers.

What policies of Obama's contributed to job growth?

Obama has never worked with Congress either. He has said he will veto the bills that are not what he wants. Lets not forget the bills that sat on Harry Ried's desk and never went for a vote. Obama has never compromised on anything either. He didn't want solutions, he wanted his way. The arrogant defiance is seen on both sides and that's why they all fail which means we're screwed. And if you ask me, those that are planning to vote for Hilary Clinton are just as messed up as those that seems to like Trump,
