The president is planning to travel the globe to seal his foreign policy legacy.
Why on earth would he be doing that?

Maybe because he can?

And why didn't GW do the same during his last year in office?

Maybe because he couldn't?

Bush was already hiding at his ranch in his last year of presidency. Didn't leave much of a legacy did he. He left the country in a huge mess.

Ok Carib. I will correct myself. I did look at his travel Itinerary and he did travel quite a bit in 2008.

While President Bush may have traveled a lot in 2008. We do know that President George W. Bush can not travel out of the country now for fear he will be arrested for war crimes.

Now this verdict may be hugely symbolic but should GWB travel outside of the US he may have to answer for his crimes.

Also should be noted that the word "terrorist" has different meanings depending on your perspective.

If GW had a busy itinerary (traveling extensively during his last year as president) why are "some" making a big deal out of Obama doing the same thing?

I personally have not heard much complaining yet but I suspect it will happen once the news starts covering his activities. Republicans always conveniently forget that previous presidents (not just Bush) did the same things they complain about Obama doing.

Democrats do the same thing Need. Some complain about what other Presidents have done while Obama is doing it.

Think about that Carib. Obama is our latest president. It would be impossible to complain about a republican president doing something that Obama has done. I know people did a lot of poking fun at Bush's intelligence but I don't remember anyone having fits over every little thing he did.

Need, it isn't impossible to see Democrats defend Obama for things that they complained about with other past Presidents. This goes on with both sides and all the presidents we've had.

I remember people having fits over everything Bush did, some still dwell on it.
