During a discussion about raising kids in a two parent household vs. a single parent household she wouldn't allow Sunny Hosten to disagree with her. She kept cutting her off and wouldn't let her make a point. In another discussion about the Oscars being boycotted she got extremely rude with Candace. She went on rant and wouldn't let anyone else offer an opinion. She actually upset Candace so much that she ran off the stage as they were going to commercial and she didn't come back on the rest of the show. Whoopi needs to understand that no matter how passionate she feels about a particular subject hers is only one opinion and there are 4 other hosts at that table who have an opinion and they should be allowed to voice them as well. The show is all about a group of women discussing topics and offering their views and opinions. She needs to allow them to do just that even if they don't agree with her.

I like Whoopi as an entertainer/actress, but she is horrible as a talk show host. In my opinion, the show has been in decline since she took over as moderator. She frequently is not informed on the topics in which they are discussing, and shows contempt for anything she deems "mundane".

I just finished watching the view...I think Sunny can stand up to Whoopi, even on the subjects that Whoopi feels so strongly about...And I do like having Sunny on the show...she brings a lot to the table.
As far as Candace is concerned...I found this tweet from her on People magazine :
A couple hours later, the actress tweeted that she had low blood sugar and was diagnosed with the flu, clarifying that her exit had nothing to do with the intense Hot Topics discussion about the controversy surrounding the lack of diversity at the Oscars.
At first I didn't think I would like her on The View due to her staunch religious views...but she is growing on me....I prefer her to her brother who is a total loon.
We all have to stand up against anyone that we feel is being a bully...and in this case I'm glad that Sunny stood up to Whoopi.
The Repubs should have stood up to DT....but they didn't ...so they helped feed the racist monster by cowering.

I was shocked at Whoopi, over te top. She has become an embarrassment. I quite like all the other hosts !

Candace was sick, that's why she left. I'm not defending Whoopi, just clarifying why Candace left.
They've had some interesting discussions this week and yes, Whoopi, as usual, feels her opinion is the final one. But what kills me is when she sings with the musical guest!!! What the heck is that about??? And how does that even come about? "Hey, musical guest, Whoopi wants to sing with you, ok?" I had to shut it off when I saw that.

I did see that 'crossysmom'..she didn't sound good either. I was cringing and embarrassed for her. I guess she felt that she could do that, since he is one of her favorites.
And you're right Candace did tweet that she was sick. Didn't feel good when she reported to work, but insisted on going on anyway. Low blood sugar and symptoms of the flu.

Ok maybe Candace was sick but that doesn't change the fact that Whoopi was incredibly rude to her and Sunny. She was in rant mode and wouldn't let anyone else make a point and got nasty when they tried to. A moderator is supposed to facilitate discussion not shut it down. That was an abuse of power, IMO.

Whoopi was the main reason I quit watching. It just became the Whoopi Show and anyone with a difference of opinion is yelled over.

Make no mistake, I am a long time big fan of Whoopi but do agree with you need. Not sure what was going on with Whoopi, she was somewhat inappropriate when stating her views on this episode and not very nice to the other hosts. I recognize that Whoopi is a very outspoken strong person however, she is never abusive or inappropriate imo. For some reason she was out of character here and I was disappointed in her approach.
For the record, Candice did not leave or "run off the stage" because Whoopi upset her. She was sick and we ultimately learned that she has the flu. You know what happens when you ASSume!!
Maybe not Whoopi's best day but I am still a long time big fan!

Agree with you, Brave. I happened to see the show yesterday and while I am a Whoopi fan, I was surprised at the posture she took. She became abrasive when shutting down the discussion. I think she does have a lot of insider information regarding the topic of Race vs The Oscars, but in a discussion there must be give and take and Whoopi was unrelenting. I forgive her this one. I continue to believe she brings a lot to the table.
I am pleasantly surprised re: Sonny. She's gotten better on the show. She is talking less about herself and adding more knowledge to the discussions based on her professional background. (I hate when she constantly says she is a lawyer).

I have not watched The View in ages. I did catch a clip of Whoopi going on a rant about the Oscars. I found myself agreeing, but still couldn't stand hearing her negativity. Also reminded me of why I stopped watching.

I agree Vantro, zeke and Braveone
I have been a Whoopi fan for many years, and know that she really is a kind-hearted, generous person, but her rant the other day, had me sit up as I was watching. I happen to agree with her...the black and minority actors have been the forgotten ones. Its time for change and I agree with the boycott. But Whoopi needed to calm down a little on that day.
I do like Sunny on the show, she is knowledgeable and lets others give their opinion. Whoopi needs to start doing that.

Pretty funny that I don't watch the View, but have come across quite a few Whoopi clips in the last few days. Just watched one about Stacy Dash. Whoopi was surprisingly composed & allowed others to comment.

Haha...yeah I watched that episode, and Whoopi was more composed. I wonder if someone spoke to her about her previous day's rant.
I saw Stacy's Dash's interview...she is really a wack job...too bad that such a beautiful, seemingly smart young lady is so crazy. She has also been married 3 times...and works for Fox.
She was recently suspended from Fox for this statement about the President: “I did not feel better. I did not feel any passion from him, like you said Andrea. I felt like he could give a sh*t—excuse me, like he could care less.”
Now however, she has taken it further by saying that perhaps they they should just get rid of 'Black history month'.
I'm surprised that Whoopi was as composed as she was upon hearing this...I wanted to yell at the TV (her)
Stacy, I believe says things to garner attention, most people hate her...next she will be driving DTaround... lol
