Weight Watcher's new spokesperson

apparently Oprah invested a bit of money in Weight Watchers and they made her their spokesperson.  I just can not stand hearing her say, "I...LOVE...BREAD-A"  and of course, a la Oprah, she has to say it twice...just in case we missed it the first time!   I read today that Weight Watchers was hoping Oprah could bring up their sales but they actually have gone down.

That's because WW is very expensive.  Many working class people can not afford the monthly fee.

Re: Weight Watcher's new spokesperson

all the weight loss programs are very expensive.  I think they were hoping that people would flock to Weight Watchers simply because Oprah was associated with it.

Re: Weight Watcher's new spokesperson

And, the value of Oprah's stake in Weight Watchers fell by more than $27 million on Friday alone.

But according to the CNN article that I read, it said  " we shouldn't shed any tears for her. Oprah is still sitting on about a $30 million profit since October. And she is continuing to eat bread after all."And they added "It's possible that it will just take more time before Oprah is able to convince the millions of subscribers to her magazine and viewers of her OWN cable network to take the plunge and sign up for Weight Watchers."

The company has tough competition from the likes of Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig, so we will see where her endorsement of Weight Watchers leads.

Re: Weight Watcher's new spokesperson

I don't know much about Nutrisystem but I have a friend who lost about 75 pounds on JC. I hate to say it but I can here because you guys don't know her. Her skin is so wrinkly and the flesh hangs off her arms. I have other friends who say she looks awful and I tell them not to tell me, talk directly to her if you are concerned. She continues to eat all their prepared foods and garbage. Not good.
I have a cousin who keeps endorsing the gastric bypass surgery but I told her to read about it before she opens her mouth. It's soo dangerous. And if you look it up you'll see that the suicide rate for those who have had it is very high. All kinds of bad thing happen as a result of that operation.
I haven't had desserts since January 8th and I feel pretty good. And now, people are starting to say.... have you lost some weight? Loving it. It's taken this long but do you know what it feels like when you know the slimming process has begun? I feel I am at the beginning of it. But it doesn't matter. I am eating healthy and if I overdo the bread on some days (not white bread) it's ok. I am not in a race.
