Georgia Christians Say Yoga Bad

Another reason never to travel south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Bullard Elementary School in Kennesaw decided to make changes to its yoga classes after Christian parents complained about the Hindu origins of the exercises. “No prayer in schools. Some don’t even say the pledge, yet they’re pushing ideology on our students,” mother Susan Jaramillo told 11Alive. “Some of those things are religious practices that we don’t want our children doing in our schools.”

The benefits of yoga have sparked a trend in the United States. According to a National Health Interview Survey, more than 21 million adults and 1.7 million kids currently practice. However, yoga is not secular enough for many Christians, especially fundamentalists.

“As Christians, we are to meditate only on God and His Word,” Jeremy Butler of the Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry wrote. “We are not to focus on ourselves or to clear our minds. The Bible never gives us a prescription to free our mind.”

Re: Georgia Christians Say Yoga Bad

Why yoga? What's wrong with good old Amurican physical and mental activities?

Re: Georgia Christians Say Yoga Bad

crazy ppl. Some "Christians" are going off the rails as of late. They are screaming persecution while passing ridiculously absurd & IMO unconstitutional laws propping up the Judeo-Christian religion. They are also supporting a man(?) whom is a serious xenophobe, because they themselves only believe that religious freedom only applies to Christians. What we are seeing today is a child that was was never told no, but are now being told no, so they are having the biggest tantrum you have ever witnessed! They are even stepping up death threats lately. Trying to prevent taxpayer dollars used to erect a 30 ft cross on public property will get you so many death threats that you drop your lawsuit & go into hiding. CRAZY!!

I will not kneel before Zod.
