After Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi was released from a prison in Mexico, The Donald sent him a big check to help get him back on his feet.
Tahmooressi spent seven months in a Mexican prison. During that time, he was beaten and even chained to a bed. When he was released, Trump sent him a check for twenty five thousand dollars.

Trump has a long history of controversial, even anti-veteran stances, despite his current claim that he’d be good for veterans if elected president. In the ’80s, Trump tried to throw disabled vet street vendors off Fifth Avenue, accusing them of essentially being a blight on the aesthetics of the street. Before his presidential campaign, Trump’s charitable foundation gave more to the Clintons than to veterans organizations. Plus, famously, Trump said Sen. John McCain’s time in a prisoner of war camp didn’t make him a hero: “I like people who weren’t captured.”

Veterans groups who stood up to Donald Trump’s pandering to their ranks are now routinely bombarded with nasty messages from the mogul’s supporters, who want to punish them for daring to challenge their leader. Paul Rieckhoff, the CEO of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, learned this firsthand when he stood up to the Republican presidential frontrunner in late January, saying he would decline any donations from Trump’s charitable foundation if offered.“We’ve gotten a flood of nasty attacks… many scary and threatening emails, [the] worst social media trolling I’ve ever seen,” Rieckhoff told The Daily Beast. “Showing what happens when you simply say no. This is the climate he’s created with his followers.”

DT gave sanctuary to Grammy Award winning singer Jennifer Hudson after three of her family members were murdered:
When Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew were gunned down in Chicago, she put everything on hold for a while. She stayed at Trump Tower to grieve, where The Donald didn’t charge her a dime and also provided security for her and a few of her family members.
Trump Turns A Triple Murder Into Good PR
It looks like Donald Trump has found a rather morbid way to capitalize on the press surrounding the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother, and nephew. The publicity-seeking mogul now says he's been "protecting" Hudson by allowing her stay in a suite with her family at his Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago free of charge since October 24th. It might have been a kind gesture on Trump's part if he weren't blabbing about it to People magazine (especially since she's supposedly holed up in his hotel for her own safety), and if his other recent charity case, Ed McMahon, wasn't still waiting for the handout that Trump promised him back in June. But these are precarious economic times and Trump's Chicago property is reportedly near bankruptcy. So should we really be surprised he's stooped to this?
Jennifer and her surviving family members were advised by police to be extra cautious, as they still believe there were more suspects involved in the shootings than just William Balfour. Balfour hasn’t been formally charged, but he has been detained in prison as a “person of interest.” However, investigators say that there must have been others involved in the plots, as Balfour had already been taken into custody when a white SUV containing the body of Hudson’s nephew was discovered. So basically, Donald Trump just let these people know where they can find Jennifer and her family. Nice going, Donald! Hope the publicity is worth it.

Campbell posted this over at the nest.
Thanks.
Donald Trump claims he's given $102 million to charity in the last five years, but that is not true.
To back up that claim, Trump's campaign compiled a list of his contributions - 4,844 of them, filling 93 pages.
But, in that massive list, one thing was missing.
Not a single one of those donations was actually a personal gift of Trump's own money.
AKA tax write offs.
Instead, according to a Washington Post analysis, many of the gifts that Trump cited to prove his generosity were free rounds of golf, given away by his courses for charity auctions and raffles.
In his defense, DT once held a door open for an old woman carrying her lucky bamboo plant out of Trader Joe's.
