What a day this has been.

Burgo and I attended a champagne brunch and an afternoon of Canasta at the Westmoreland Club with our great friend Azaria Chamberlain.

Azaria's nephew Georgie, who lives across the pond, keeps his ear to the ground concerning American politics and reports to his favorite aunt regularly.

According to Georgie (aka the Viscount St. George) the word is that the whole Donald Trump run for the presidency is a farce of massive proportions gone wrong.

The whole thing is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Trump never expected things to go this far, and now that he's gotten so many low information supporters expecting him to make good on his false promises, he's at sixes and sevens as to what to do.

Georgie says Trump is using this whole mistreatment of him by the Republican establishment as a way out.

If he's denied the nomination, which may very well happen, he'll be able to claim that he was unfairly robbed.

He'll then say, for the good of the party, he won't run as an Independent; thus allowing him to walk away with a bit of face left him.

Azaria says when it comes to these things, Georgie has yet to be proven wrong.... but there's always a first time.
