Donald Trump, who repeatedly advocated for Mike Tyson during the boxer’s 1992 rape trial in Indiana, said on Monday that he knows nothing about it.

“Do you still think Mike Tyson got a raw deal when he endorsed you?” Trump was asked.

“I don’t know anything about it. I know he endorsed me. I heard he endorsed me,” Trump stated. “I don’t know anything about his trial. I really don’t.”

When heavyweight-boxing champion Mike Tyson was convicted in 1992 of raping a beauty pageant contestant, his friend Donald Trump came to his defense — advocating for a way Tyson could avoid prison time and publicly defending the boxer’s character.

Trump suggested Tyson could pay the contestant, Desiree Washington, with money from a fight to avoid serving a jail sentence, and he said of Tyson, “After knowing Mike, I don’t know how it did happen.”

Trump went a step further by more directly suggesting Washington wasn’t a victim of rape at all.“You have a young woman that was in his hotel room late in the evening at her own will,” Trump said on NBC Nightly News.

“You have a young woman seen dancing for the beauty contest—dancing with a big smile on her face, looked happy as can be.”“It’s my opinion that to a large extent, Mike Tyson was railroaded in this case,” Trump said on Feb. 21, 1992. What about the Donald's terriific memory?

And the trumpeting lemmings just keep following their leader over the cliff.
