Whoopi threatening to leave the view
When I turned on my computer this morning I found an article on my news feed that Whoopi Goldberg is threatening to leave The View. Her contract is coming to an end and she is unhappy at The View. I think she knows production isn't going to give her the same perks in her new contract that she has enjoyed in the current one. She knows if she stays she won't have nearly as much control as she has enjoyed in the last few years. I think if Whoopi wants to leave she should leave.

I read that Whoopi is in negotiations with the bosses for her new contract...so screaming about wanting to leave is an old tactic used by many in order to get a better deal.
The network bosses seem open to an agreement. “We want her back and are trying to make that happen,” said a source close to the show.But change of one sort or another is likely coming to “The View” soon.
Raven Symone , who joined the panel last year, probably won’t be returning, one insider said. It is also rumored that Candace wants to leave as well, because the traveling back and forth to California is getting to her and because she misses her family.
So we will see what happens...and who will be back for the next season.

I've always been a big fan of Whoopi, but I think she has a cranky disposition on "The View". She becomes too angry when people disagree with her, and frequently acts as she just doesn't want to be there.
I still admire her work as a comedian and actress, but hosting a talk show is not her forte.

she said something the other day on the show alluding to the fact that she didn't want to be there. I can't remember what she said. Wouldn't be surprised if she was gone. And I feel like Raven is there because Whoopi wants her so if Whoopi is gone that may mean Raven will be gone too. I'm not crazy about either of them but Whoopi has been much better this season and I think Raven has grown. I'd miss Candace. But it must be hard to travel back and forth every week.

I liked Whoopi as an actress and enjoyed the movies she has made but I just don't think she was a good talk show host. She doesn't seem to have any knowledge beyond the fluffy or tabloid topics and I feel that is why they stick to those so much. She also isn't tolerant of others disagreeing with her. It is my hopes that if she leaves they will up the intelligence factor of the show and move to discussing more hard topics about things going on in he world today.

One day this week the topic of marijuana came up briefly and Whoopie made a comment about not being allowed to discuss it--and rolled her eyes. It seems she must have been talked to about a few things and that's why she wants out. She has toned it down a bit but there are still times that her anger is out of control. She is just not a good moderator.

I have always been a fan of Whoopi, she is the reason I started watching (recording) The View. Although I hope not, imo her time on The View is coming to an end.
She has not seemed happy for a while now and, as much as I admire her, she has been too harsh with other hosts particularly Paula. We all know how this can happen when one is unhappy 'on the job'.
Whatever happens, Whoopi's tenure on The View has added to their success and increased viewership. If she does not return for another season I hope it is by her choice.

When I first heard Whoopi was going to be a host I was excited. I thought she would make a really good host but I was disappointed. I didn't find her to be a good host or moderator at all. She was very controlling and didn't tolerate anyone differing with her. She seemed to take it personally when they did. She often shut down discussions when the other hosts disagreed with her. I also think she does't have the intellect to facilitate intelligent discussions which is why they were sticking to soft topics and tabloid topics. I am hoping that if she does leave they will up the intelligence factor and start talking about hard topics more.
