On Friday, Trump was endorsed by the NRA and gave a speech about doing away with gun-free school zones.
"Hillary Clinton expressed her outrage. Then Trump expressed his outrage at her outrage. So, Trump went on “Fox and Friends” to clarify his position".
“I don’t want to have guns in classrooms,” he explained. “Although, in some cases, teachers should have guns in classrooms, frankly.”
“So, no guns in classrooms, unless guns in classrooms?"
“I think we just heard Donald Trump’s education plan: Kids will learn math by counting how many different positions he takes in one sentence.”

Trump once stood with the Clintons in support of the assault weapons ban and longer waiting periods to purchase guns. He even criticized Republicans who “walk the NRA line” and “refuse even limited restrictions.” But, oh, how the times have changed. “Now, Trump is walking that line like a drunk driver taking a sobriety test".

Did the NRA do a background check on Trump before they endorsed him?
“I assume they didn’t do a background check. If they had, they would have seen that when President Obama called for gun control in the wake of the Newtown shooting, Trump tweeted: ‘President Obama spoke for me and every American in his remarks in #Newtown Connecticut.'”

Donald Trump fully flip-flops, now opposes ban on assault weapons.
Trump’s comments from the his 2000 book, "The America We Deserve," in which Trump wrote: "I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun."
2016:
Trump wrote, "I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72 hours if a potential gun owner has a record."
In a March 2016 debate, Trump was asked to speak to his published support for an assault-weapon ban.
He replied: "I don’t support it anymore. I do not support the ban on assault" weapons, he said.
We asked Trump’s campaign if he’d flip-flopped and didn’t immediately hear back.
Our ruling
Trump supported the assault-weapon ban in 2000.
He opposes restrictions now.
We rate this a FULL FLOP.

The NRA and the Right don't care what his real beliefs are, as long as he "eventually" says what they want to hear and it works to win the election. They'll try to keep him in line after he's in office, which shows you how out of touch with reality they really are.

BEST explanation I have heard re Trump and his "views" ( I cannot call them flip flops-its an insult to footwear everywhere)
