caribou started a thread entitled "Who Is Racist"?
An excerpt:
So it got me thinking about some racist comments that other politicians have said. Why is it that Biden never received this kind of backlash for his multiple racist remarks? Here's why.
As long as you’re a Democrat, you can stereotype Blacks, Indians, and Somalis to your heart’s content. Your White Democrat Privilege ensures the media will lie and cover it up so that you never pay a political price.

I have to at least partially disagree with you.
Yes, Obama and other Dems defended Biden's racist remarks, "gaffes" if you will (and he made quite a lot of them.)
However, Biden received plenty of backlash for his remarks, I just googled it to refresh my memory.
A possible reason for different treatment?
Biden has apologized for what he said, something Trump has never done.
On the contrary, he keeps repeating the same ones over and over again, which means they're not gaffes.
He really means it.
Biden may have shown bad taste with his jokes, but there's noting funny about what Trump's says about Mexicans, Muslims, women, members of his own party, etc.
Although I must say, I do get a giggle when he calls Warren Pochahontas.
On that note: Warren may be Pochahontas, but Trump's no General Custer.
Unlike Trump, Custer fought bravely for his country and his cascading locks were naturally golden.

I don't think Trump is a racist. I don't think Biden is a racist. I DO think Trump is a an undeniable bigot. .......Key difference: The main difference between racist and bigot is that fact that racism discriminates on the basis of race, whereas a bigot discriminates on the basis of his personal opinion, which can include race, gender, religion or beliefs.

Sorta like an Archie Bunker type?

What I find extremely hypocritical is how they are always bemoaning the issue of the "race card" being played, yet they are constantly playing the "liberal media card". According to them, conservatives are never treated fairly by the media. So, it's perfectly fine to play the "liberal media bias card". However, if you suggest "racial bias" when it comes to black issues, one is playing a "card". SMH!

They're hypocrites in the most purest form, because they know they are being hypocritical spin doctors who can never address an issue without deflecting. What can be done with a person like that? Nothing.

I don't think it's like Caribou to fan the flames of the racist bitching and moaning and woe-is-meing that goes on over there ( or did when I was allowed to post). Was this in response to something said there? Never mind, I really don't want to know. :heavy sigh.

I agree about caribou, so in fairness, here is her post in its entirety.
caribou: I didn't mean for this to be so long but I had to share my thoughts.
The last couple of mornings I've been watching CNN's New Day with Chris C. and Allison C. Of course they're still talking about the judge and have devoted the whole two or three hours driving home the narrative that Trump is a racist and that Republicans are supporting a racist. They've had Congressmen and Trump campaign supporters as guests. Yesterday I watched Chris go on a rant about Trump instead of conducting a question and answer interview. He sounded like he was doing a campaign speech for Hillary. He slammed Republicans like Pual Ryan for calling Trump a racist and then the next day supporting him. This morning they did the exact same thing all over again with a female Trump campaign person. They certainly arent holding back on showing their bias for Hillary. Big surprise.
I've also been seeing snippets of speeches by Hillary, E. Warren, Biden and Obama. They're making a strong effort to paint Trumps whole campaign about racism. It is clear that will be their talking point for the next few months, if not for the whole campaign.
So it got me thinking about some racist comments that other politicians have said. Why is it that Biden never received this kind of backlash for his multiple racist remarks? Here's why.

Biden has an ugly history of racist comments. Any one of those comments would have seen a Republican destroyed. The media protects Biden, though, by laughing his bigotry off as a joke. Because the media thinks racism coming from the guy they voted for is funny. Here is just a few examples...
1. Biden kicked off his 2007 White House run by being condescending to his current running mate, saying that then-Sen. Barack Obama was the “first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”
2. Biden falsely boasted that Delaware was a slave state to explain why he would remain competitive in southern primaries.
"You don’t know my state. My state was a slave state … my state is the 8th largest black population in the country."
3. Biden’s treatment of Indian-Americans has earned him plenty of criticism. In 2006, he told an Indian-American supporter that “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”
4. The vice president decided to practice that accent on the campaign trail in 2012. In a speech criticizing Mitt Romney for outsourcing, Biden donned an Indian accent to mock the notion of Indians trying to speak English.
"How many times you get the call, ‘I like to talk to you about your … credit card,” he said, abandoning the mock accent. “It’s a little over done.”
Biden did not mention that the Obama campaign has spent thousands of dollars on call centers owned by companies in the Philippines and Canada.
5. Biden actually said of Somalis, “If you ever come to the train station with me, you’ll notice that I have great relationships with them because there’s an awful lot of them driving cabs and are friends of mine. For real. I’m not being solicitous. I’m being serious.”
6. Biden appeared in Virginia before a group of supporters, a number of them African-American, and said this of Republican Mitt Romney: “He is going to let the big banks once again write their own rules, unchain Wall Street. He is going to put y'all back in chains."
Looks like Biden isn't the only one that can't help himself. Here are are few more.
"You’re not a member of the Taliban, are you?” – Chuck Hagel, Secretary of Defense. While taking questions at an event at the University of Nebraska, Hagel asked an Indian man if he was a member of the Taliban before the man asked his question. The man, Robin Gandhi, is an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska. Video of the exchange can be found.
"I love this quote. It’s from Mahatma Gandhi. He ran a gas station down in St. Louis for a couple of years. Mr. Gandhi, do you still go to the gas station? A lot of wisdom comes out of that gas station” – Hillary Clinton
"In about 18 months from now, hopefully [state Sen. Vincent Sheheen] will have sent Nikki Haley back to wherever the hell she came from and this country can move forward.” – Former South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian said of the South Carolina Governor.
Sorry this post is so long but I thought I would share how the Democrats get a pass while they tear apart someone else for their racist remarks.

every party has people who make stupid idiotic remarks, I see racism or bigotry as more of a consistent thing shown through actions, statements over time. I don't don't know where anyone ever got a pass, except from their own supporters, and that happens on both sides of the aisle.
Too much freaking divisiveness in this world, sigh.

I am sorry, but the Republican party is the party you want to belong to if you are a racist. It is what it is. There is a reason Trump blew away every other candidate from that party & it certainly isn't his plans, because he has none! Sure there are racists in every party, but only one party props them up. Only one party is constantly trying to pass laws which would restrict or deny rights of certain ppl in this country, so the Republicans deserve the title of bigoted racist party! While they may not be as obvious with their racism as their bigotry it is still there.
