Nip's Take on The Benghazi Attack

Bless her heart, she never fails to amuse.

"The marines were right there.  What did they need more funds for?  What funds?  Were they waiting to wire money to the marines to go fight?  That is absurd.  Why would they negotiate funds during an attack.  They had people there.  Even if there were not enough they were there.  They were told to stand down.  So whether it were 10 people there to help or 1000 people there to help it does not matter because they were told NOT TO GO!!  So in reality in doesn't matter in Congress allowed for more security or not, does it?"
++++++++++++
From FOX News (So you know it's true):

WASHINGTON –  A two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya.

The report alleges no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees.Debunking a series of persistent allegations hinting at dark conspiracies surrounding the incident, the report concludes that there was no intelligence failure, no delay in sending a CIA rescue team, no missed opportunity for a military rescue, and no evidence the CIA was covertly shipping arms from Libya to Syria. The report blames the Obama administration's inaccurate portrayal of the attack as having evolved from a protest on fragmentary and contradictory intelligence from the CIA. It finds no intent to mislead the American public.

Re: Nip's Take on The Benghazi Attack

The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence's (Chaired by Republican Trey Goudy) 15 January 2014 review of the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi viewed video footage documenting the dispatch of a security team to the Mission compound within 20-25 minutes of the first report of the attack, and they found that no "stand down" orders were issued to the security team at the Annex: After the Diplomatic Security (DS) agent in the Tactical Operations Center at the Temporary Mission Facility alerted the Annex security team that TMF was under attack at 9:40, the Chief of Base advised that he would immediately deploy a force to provide assistance," according to a September 19, 2012, cable.

Two armored vehicles were prepared so the security team could respond from the Annex. Approximately 20-25 minutes after the first call came into the Annex that the Temporary Mission Facility (TMF) was under attack, a security team left the Annex for the Mission compound. In footage taken from the Annex's security cameras, the security team can be observed departing the CIA Annex at 10:03 p.m. Benghazi time.

The team drove to the Mission facility and made their way onto the Mission compound in the face of enemy fire, arriving in the vicinity of the compound at approximately 10:10 p.m. Benghazi time. The Committee explored claims that there was a "stand down" order given to the security team at the Annex. Although some members of the security team expressed frustration that they were unable to respond more quickly to the Mission compound, 12 the Committee found no evidence of intentional delay or obstruction by the Chief of Base or any other party.

Re: Nip's Take on The Benghazi Attack

The Repubs like to claim Hillary didn't give a shite about the four Americans killed in Benghazi.

Republicans and their allies have been trying to politicize the attack — which killed four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya — suggesting, without evidence, the Obama administration may have ignored intelligence that the attack was imminent, didn’t properly secure the Benghazi compound and is now trying to cover it up.

But hidden beneath the GOP campaign is the fact that House Republicans voted to cut nearly $300 million from the U.S. embassy security budget.

Here's what a top Republican had to say about the embassy attack and "priorities".

When asked if he voted to cut the funds this morning on CNN, Chaffetz said, Absolutely"

CNN: Is it true that you voted to cut the funding for embassy security?

CHAFFETZ: Absolutely.

Look, we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have — think about this — 15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, private army there for President Obama in Baghdad.

And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces? When you’re in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices how to prioritize this.

Re: Nip's Take on The Benghazi Attack

There were not any marines right there. There might have been a few guards but not enough to fight the terrorists off. They had the CIA at the out post who responded and the Lybian's also sent in forces to help. The nearest military was 400+ miles away in Tripoli.  It takes time to gather the troops together and and transport them to Benghazi.  I don't know why people on the right can't seem to grasp these facts.

No matter how educated, talented, rich, or cool you think you are, how you treat people tells us all.  Integrity is everything.

I agree Need! They also believe all of the conspiracy theories on HC...it was horrible to hear people repeat these lies as if they were true.  "A neighbor said...blah, blah blah..." sad really,  these are grown people who are so brain-washed they can't see the truth. Or know they are lies but still believe them, and repeat them to others that think as they do...smh!!!!

Let's not forget, these are facts that came out of the Republican led Benghazi hearings.

Are they in Hillary's corner?
