Can we really continue to say that all of these killings are justified?

Can't get the video I was looking for but this young man was shot 5 times at close range.
This country is going to implode. We are going to destroy ourselves because until all of us (USA) have some peace, none of us will have peace.

Oh zeke...I couldn't look at the video...its just too horrible what is happening in our world.
Per CNN: this is what the mother of his child said:
"The individuals involved in his murder took away a man with children who depended upon their daddy on a daily basis. ... As this video has been shared across the world, you will see with your own eyes how he was handled unjustly and killed without regard for the lives that he helped raise," said McMillon, the mother of Sterling's son.
In a news report and as she was speaking, I saw his son who was standing next to his mother begin to sob.......so sad.
They shot him in the back...and they did find a gun on him, but it was in his pocket.
He was down on the ground already, there was no reason to murder him, but they had no regard for a human life!

Spunky, Zeke is referencing ANOTHER fatal shooting in Minnesota yesterday. Obama is speaking now from Poland on these shootings.

Sorry if that was confusing, I'm trying to do too much at once.
There was the shooting in Louisiana which is the one you are talking about and there was one yesterday in Minnesota. In that case, the girlfriend used facebook live video to broadcast what was happening.
The Minnesota governor spoke today about it and was awesome-what he said was pretty much unprecedented for a governor to say in a press conference.

I just realized that NE! I was referring to the shooting of the man selling cd's that was shot in the back. His son was sobbing on the news as his mother spoke.
And this other man, (that zeke was referring to) Philando Castile was shot in his car while reaching for his wallet...also caught on tape.
It's just happening too often....I watched when they escorted Dylan Roof in (South Carolina) out of the precinct and he was treated with respect and dignity and meanwhile, he had just shot 9 black people in a church who had befriended and welcomed him.
There is a double standard...and something has to be done to these police officers that don't value the lives of black men.

Hearts are hurting all over this country tonight. People are crying because no one can understand why.
When will it stop? people ask. The cops will get off with a lie. they say. I am afraid to send my son out of the house. mothers echo.
Why? Is it skin color? Fear of brown skin? Fear that entitlements will go away? Fear of equalization of races/classes/cultures? WTF???????

and don't forget Dylann got his Burger King .
I'm trying to find what the governor of Minnesota said, I watched it but I'm looking for a transcript. This is a quote from Obamas speech on it:
Obama: "this is not just a black issue. This is not just a Hispanic issue. This is an American issue."

Spunky, I too was confused because it is incredulous that a second shooting could take place so soon. It's beginning to feel like a conspiracy....a gang of cops on a national level? I get the "all cops are not bad" mantra. But there is something sinister taking place here.

It was a good speech NE. I feel sad tonight.

Found it!
At a press conference Thursday, Dayton called the shooting "totally unacceptable." He said he found both the shooting and the aftermath "absolutely appalling at all levels," noting in particular that no first aid was provided to Castile, while other police officers did attend to the officer who fired the shots. Dayton also criticized the "stark treatment" of Reynolds by police.
"Justice will be served," Dayton said. "Justice must be served."
"Would this have happened if those passengers, the driver and the passengers, were white?" said Dayton. "I don't think it would have. So I'm forced to confront, and I think all of us in Minnesota are forced to confront, that this kind of racism exists."

Yeah, it took guts to say the truth and he gets credit. Have to say I am surprised re: Minnesota. Just thought it was a more liberal place but guess I was wrong.

I am at work but I have CNN on the computer. There are protests all over......Wash, DC. I remember protesting lots of stuff in that city and being tear gassed......
They are singing We Shall Overcome. I don't know.....the words are losing power for me......I just don't want to sing it anymore.

Wise words to remember at this time
