Monkey Kill Joy
Let's put this to rest right now.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal'-just words. Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself'-just words. 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country'-just words. 'I have a dream'-just words," Gov. Deval Patrick in 2006.

"Don't tell me words don't matter! 'I have a dream.' Just words. 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself.' Just words, just speeches,"~Barack Obama in 2008.
Yo View!
You've put nothing to rest, except the fact that theTrump campaign refused to admit Melania's speech was stolen from Michelle's and handled the whole thing badly.
What happened to all of Donald's "best people" he brags about?
But I digress.
Here's what President Obama had to say at the time:
Sen. Barack Obama said that he doesn't think it's a big deal that he borrowed lines from his friend Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, although he probably should have given him credit.
(In other words, he didn't deny it.)
Obama said that Patrick suggested he use the lines to respond to Hillary Rodham Clinton's suggestion that Obama is more of a talker than a doer.
Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson accused Obama of plagiarizing Patrick, and that's particularly troubling since Obama's appeal is based in large part on his rhetorical skills.
"Now hold on a second. Let's see — I've written two books, wrote most of my speeches," Obama told reporters at a news conference after touring a titanium plant."I'm happy to give Deval credit, as I give credit to a lot people for spurring all kinds of ideas," he said. "But I think that it is fair to say that everything that we've been doing in generating excitement and the interest that people have in the election is based on the core belief in me that we need change in America."
(In other words, he had no problem giving Deval credit)
Asked whether he wished he would have given him credit given the criticism he's facing, Obama responded:
"I was on the stump, and he had suggested that we use these lines. I thought they were good lines. I'm sure I should have — didn't this time."
(In other words he admitted it was a n unintentional mistake.)
And that was the end of that.
See, that's where "Paulie Walnuts" Manafort and the rest of the Trump clan failed.
They're still lying about it and making a fool of Melania in the process.
There now saying some of the things she "wrote" are similar to something from "My Little Pony"???
Seriously? How embarrasin'!
And that's why it's still in the news today.
Kapeesh?

Do you think they'll still try to blame Hillary?

Astrophysicist calculates there was one in 87 billion chance Melania's speech was not plagiarized.

The cuckoos will love this....
Speech writer Meredith McIver said that while working on the speech, Melania Trump told her that she was inspired by the first lady and had always liked Michelle Obama. She then read some passages of Obama’s 2008 speech to her over the phone.“
I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech,” McIver said. “I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches.”

But on the Today Show, Mellie said she had written the speech on her own....so which ever way you cut it, she is a liar like the rest of the family members.

UPDATE:
Biden's plagiarism caused him to drop out of the presidential race
And, Obama had permission to use Deval's lines. Melania did not.

Melania Trump's speechwriter admits mistake, says she has offered resignation; Trump rejects it.
I believe, the only reason why Trump rejected Meredith McIver's resignation was, they intended to use her as "the fall guy" for the speech, and so the blame would be taken off Melania.
I don't believe if McIver was actually guilty of this, that Donald would let her off the hook and not fire her.

Hi DG!
I totally agree...but I'm beginning to wonder if this person actually exists.
When he had the so called errors in his books, (that we know he didn't write) because he's an illiterate, this same name came up as the person responsible for the errors, and she wasn't fired then either. So he would allow this person to be responsible for Melania's speech??? I don't buy it...that's a made up person.
