They now have video of the three swimmer who were said to be very drunk at a gas station and doing some damage. I don't know what to believe about the robbery but it is starting to look like they could have fabricated it to cover for their drunken misconduct.

So what will happen with these stupid guys??....they've just ruined their careers and possible lively-hood...OMG...what were they thinking??!!

The security officer did brandish a gun and held them there until the police arrived, and since they had previously handed over 120.00 for the damage ...perhaps these 4 idiots thought they should say that they were being robbed, for more money??  IDK what to think...idiots!!
These guys have just literally given the US a black eye...also their swimming team...so disappointed in them.

It wasn't minor. You can't destroy property. That's illegal wherever you are. In Brazil it is illegal to file a fake police report. So two of them that did that are on the hook for that too. One of them is safe in the US, the other idiot is there. They were drunk, again, don't know the laws about public intoxication. But the 3 they still have there are going to have issues. The main 32 year old Lochte idiot turned it into a major incident by going on TV  and media and lying and saying bad stuff about Brazil. I don't blame Brazil, I 'd throw the book at all of 'em.

I do believe that the Brazilian security guards were holding guns on them....and I just read a statement from one of the four swimmers that said there was no bathroom damage as was stated by the officials. 

The swimmers gave them whatever money they had on them, and he also stated that Lochte ranted and raved at the security guards....he's really fortunate that they didn't shoot him.

Brazil is known for its enormous crime rate against its own citizens and anyone that visits. 

The Olympics should never have been held there.  And Lochte should not have bragged.
 

I was glad to that Micheal Phelps was not involved to Sam!!  When I first heard they were saying they were robbed I knew there was going to be more to the story but didn't think that it was all a lie. I can see if they were in their early 20s but they were 30 something.  They  have put a bad image for our country. Shame on them

decisions to drop Lochte by sponsors Speedo, Ralph Lauren, Airweave and Gentle Hair Removal came after Lochte admitted to “over-exaggerating” the armed-robbery claim, an assertion that overshadowed much of the second week of the Summer Olympics.

Lochte, meanwhile, said he would continue to swim. Even if sanctioned by the U.S. Olympic Committee for his lack of honesty.
