Canning Season

Burgo and some friends of ours are canning peaches in our basement this morning.

I'm staying out of it. Too much work.
I promised to do a lunch run.

Anyone else canning?

Peppers & Tomatoes. The big project comes when the grapes are ready. Wine! I have so many grapes his year! Probably enough to make wine, jelly & sherbet.

Whatchya gettin' for lunch?

Hot dogs.
There's a place that's been around since the depression that makes the best chili dogs.
Three guys stand in the window over a hot griddle and make them from breakfast until late at night.

People come from miles to have them.
Trouble is, if you're in the place for more than two minutes you smell like onions and chili for the rest of the day.
Totally worth it.

PS: Thank you for spelling sherbet correctly.
Sherbert? UGH!

Re: Canning Season

I would have loved that lunch when I was eating hot dogs! Chili foot longs were a fav!

Sherbert! Lol I figured out that I was pronouncing wrong when I was 6. I read the container & then a fight ensued with my cousins on the correct pronunciation. They thought was nuts!
