Hey Spunky & all to follow!
Another beautiful day here. Sunny, cool and a little breezy. Guess it's common today!
My garden is a bit out of control! The weeds are ridiculous! The pumpkin patch is taking over everything. I have more cucumbers than I know what to do with.
Guess what? I don't care.
But I did have a lot of fresh veggies all summer. And I won't have to buy pumpkins for Halloween!
So I guess it was worth all the hard work.
Have a great day everyone. Enjoy!

Sounds like you could start your own farmers market Sam...lol
Perhaps put up a stand and sell the extra...make money for your next season's seeds...lol
Good job! Who knew that you were a farmer too!

Good afternoon! It's a very cold, cloudy day here, but it's supposed to warm up tomorrow, I actually have a flannel shirt on, can't believe it myself. My flower gardens are a little sad looking, but I've decided not to over-do it to keep them going like I usually do, sometimes you've just got to let them do their own thing. The pumpkins sound great, people pay per pound, that really adds up! Used to try to encourage my son to start a little patch when he was little to make some money, never happened. Have a great day!

Actually this was my son's idea (he's 27). He is in to organic food & he wanted a garden. So my yard was perfect for it. He tilled it up & planted the plants that we bought together. I knew the day to day watering would fall mostly on me but I had no idea how much work that is.
We have learned a lot & look forward to changing a few things for next year. Overall it is/was a great experience. Spending quality time with my grown son was an added bonus.
As for the vegetable stand...I think I will pass. I do not want any more work to do!
Luckily I am a huge salad eater! I planted all kinds of leaf lettuce & it was fantastic!
It is nice to know that I can grow my own food. No pesticides, no additives.

That's so nice spending time with your son! I know what you mean about watering things, that's all I've done all summer. I usually spend time with my son in the workshop building something. My Father did carpentry on the side and my son worked with him a little bit, now we put our heads together on some projects, his wife has even joined in. My husband not so much, but he always does what I consider the dirty jobs for me, clean-up!

Hi Spunky.....
I am very proud of the USA athletes. They are fine, gracious, and good models for the young people. Yes, there are slip ups but they will pay and that's sad. Lessons learned. (I admit......I am still pi__ed off about the Bahamian athlete stealing the Gold from the American. She slid over the finish line. Yes, I am a bad sport. )
Sam...jealous of your garden. Save some tomatoes for me.

I wish we all lived close enough that I could share my bounty with you.
I would love to share BLT's with all my Plan B comrades!
That is so cool teluog to build stuff with your Son. My Dad was a carpenter & I used to love hanging out with him in the garage. There was nothing my Dad couldn't fix. I sure miss him.
But those are great memories for me.
