Morning Spunky & all to follow.

It has been raining here for 3 days.   I think it is time for it to stop! 

October 1st would have been my Mother's 96th Birthday.  I always try to make that day special in some way.  Usually I like to cook my favorite meal that she cooked for me as a child. That is pinto beans & cornbread. Not the sweet kind but the good old fashioned "hillbilly" kind. She also made this salad with endive lettuce & onions using a hot bacon grease & vinegar dressing.  She called it wilted lettuce. OMG that was awesome. My Mom instilled a love of vegetables early on for me.  I am so grateful for that. We always ate whole foods, never processed food. I raised my Sons the same way & we are all healthy eaters that avoid processed foods. With the obesity rate in America out of control, I am thankful my Mom taught me the benefits of real food.

Such a day  It was nice and cool though-cloudy and rainy for the next few days.

Squirrels and chipmunks-not fans of the rain or maybe they have another buffet they hit

Tomorrow is my kiddo's 5 year wedding anniversary-wood is the gift...wood? LOL (sorry)
