Re: Comey Should Resign

Five facts about the three hour "e-mail scandal":

1. The emails did not come from her private server.
As noted by the Associated Press’s White House reporter:
WASHINGTON (AP) — US official: Newly discovered emails related to Clinton investigation did not come from her private server— Josh Lederman (@joshledermanAP) October 28, 2016

 2. The emails did not come from Hillary Clinton.
As noted by HuffPo‘s senior politics editor:
Pete Williams sources say in course of a separate investigation, FBI came across "a device." found emails there. but emails NOT from HRC— Sam Stein (@samsteinhp) October 28, 2016

3. The device the emails were found on did not belong to Clinton. They came from her aide Huma Abedin and her husband Anthony Wiener. The emails were found due to the investigation of Wiener sexting, as noted by the NYT:

New emails tied to the FBI's Clinton inquiry were discovered during the investigation into Anthony Weiner's sexting https://t.co/FMHEkn03B0— The New York Times (@nytimes) October 28, 2016

Details of FBI: They found 3 emails that "might" be relevant to the case. None of them were withheld by Clinton.— Kurt Eichenwald (@kurteichenwald) October 28, 2016

 5. The Clinton campaign is already asking for transparency.

The campaign is clearly not scared of what’s in these emails and is asking for the FBI to put out more info for the public.

A “scandal” came. It lasted about 3 hours. Then it fizzled. Enjoy the low calorie nothing burger the FBI just fed everyone 11 days out of a presidential election.Last edited by DollyLongstaff (Today 7:30 am)

Re: Comey Should Resign

This was a calculated, political move on Comey's part. He threw the GOP a bone at a very opportune time knowing they would run with it. I agree he should loose his job but Since he holds an appointed position safe to say he is on his way out anyway as Hillary Clinton will replace him when she becomes president. I am guessing he knows that his best chance at keeping his position is the Trump winning the election so this was an attempt to help him win.

Re: Comey Should Resign

Agree need. It's an unwritten law that damaging information about a POTUS candidate is never released this close to Election Day.
Comey's boss Loretta Lynch told him not to do this. Dogs.

it actually is written :The main criticism leveled against Comey is that he violated the Hatch Act, a rule designed to keep government officials from using their authority to influence elections.Elected officials, including the president and vice-president and members of Congress, can campaign for candidates. But they are not allowed to pressure government employees — including FBI agents — from trying to shape an election's outcome. Government employees, in turn, are restricted in their involvement in politics.
