I promise not to bore you with any more opera clips.
This is the final scene from Puccini's "Suor Angelica" (Sister Angelica).
Angelica is a member of a noble Italian family.
Six years have pased since she was sent to a cloistered convent after giving birth to a baby boy conceived out of wedlock.
There has been no communication between her and her family since.
After the death of Angelica's parents, the boy was placed in the care of her aunt, the matriarch of the family, who has come to the convent to tell Angelica that the child has died.
Angelica, who is in charge of the convent's garden, is overwrought and decides to end her life by drinking a concoction of poisinous herbs and flowers in order to join her child in heaven.
Suddenly she realizes that by commiting suicide, she will never be able to enter heaven or see her child again.
