For the second time in as many weeks, protesters demonstrated in front of the Troy office of U.S. Rep. Dave Trott (R-Birmingham) on Tuesday, Feb. 7., demanding that Republicans in Congress keep the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, in place.
The protesters, some dressed as chickens, called Trott a “chicken” because they say he has refused repeated requests to meet with them.

About 100 demonstrators chanted outside of the Brooklyn office of Representative Dan Donovan, the only Republican congressman from New York City.
They said they are upset about Donovan's support for repealing the Affordable Care Act -- and his refusal to hold a town hall meeting so they can speak to him face-to-face about it.
"It makes me feel very frightened, and it makes me mad," said one.
"Terrible!" said another."Very, very desperate and sad," another said.
Many, like Nidhi Khanna of the group Staten Island for Change, say it's personal.
"Someone like me, who has a pre-existing condition, would actually get charged more if Obamacare is repealed.
Obamacare prevents insurance companies from charging more for people with pre-existing conditions," she said.

Rep. Mike Coffman (CO-06) held a meeting in Aurora this week and was shocked when hundreds of people turned out. Constituents in attendance believed it was a town hall-style meeting in the library’s auditorium, but the Congressman’s staff refused to let them all in:"

MORRISTOWN – A grassroots group requesting an open conversation with their congressman continued their weekly routine of protesting outside his local office.
The “Fridays with Frelinghuysen” event, held at noon every Friday by the group NJ 11th for Change, called for their district’s congressman, U.S. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11), to hold a town hall, which he has not done for more than three years.
“One thousand, two hundred and seven days days to be exact,” said Brett Thomas of Little Falls. “There are a lot of issues he needs to address.”
Several Republicans around the country have had contentious town hall meetings recently with members of the public expressing particular concern over the future of the Affordable Care Act.
