November 11, Veterans Day, began as Armistice Day, observing the official end of major hostilities of World War I in the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect.
Since 1954, the U.S. has set aside this day to honor all of America’s military veterans, including the 820,000 who call Pennsylvania home. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
