Cosby Found Guilty

Bill Cosby was convicted Thursday of drugging and molesting a woman in the first big celebrity trial of the #MeToo era, completing the spectacular late-life downfall of a comedian who broke racial barriers in Hollywood on his way to TV superstardom as America's Dad.Cosby, 80, could end up spending his final years in prison after a jury concluded he sexually violated Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia mansion in 2004. He claimed the encounter was consensual.

Re: Cosby Found Guilty

He was America's Dad........he presented himself to your country as a wholesome, caring, compassionate person who valued education and family. He fooled us all.

Yes he did...I have to admit that I felt bad today.....I wanted him to be innocent of all of this....I really admired him...and he broke my heart.... Feel so bad for all those women...

Re: Cosby Found Guilty

I wonder is something will happen to him before he goes to prison.

I don't know if he'll ever serve time behind bars. He's elderly and has health issues. My guess is that he'll get house arrest.

Re: Cosby Found Guilty

Hmmmmmm....not surprising, actually. And I really always liked Brokaw. We'll see. I am still upset about Charlie Rose and Tavis Smiley and the NPR hosts. I have bookmarks sitting on my desk from Channel 13 with Rose and Smiley's pictures on them.
What next?

Re: Cosby Found Guilty

Brokaw...denies it...He describes Vester's statements to the press as a "drive by shooting." here is some of what he said:

Brokaw said Vester is a "character assassin" with a "grudge against NBC News.""She has unleashed a torrent of unsubstantiated criticism and attacks on me more than twenty years after I opened the door for her and a new job at Fox News," Brokaw said in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by CNNMoney.

Brokaw's Friday letter asserted that he played a key role in introducing Vester to Fox News boss Roger Ailes, who later hired her."When he got in trouble on sexual matters, not a peep from this woman," Brokaw wrote. Ailes, who passed away last year, left Fox News in 2016 amid sexual harassment allegations that he repeatedly denied.

Throughout the letter, Brokaw depicted Vester as a disgruntled ex-employee who left NBC "angry that she had failed in her pursuit of stardom."

Re: Cosby Found Guilty

He also said in his letter:

"I did not verbally and physically attack her" as described in the interviews.

Brokaw said, "I deeply resent the pain and anger she inflicted on my wife, daughters and granddaughters," adding, "I am proud of who I am as a husband, father, grandfather, journalist and citizen. Vester, the Washington Post and Variety cannot diminish that. But in this one woman piece of sensational claims they are trying."
