Is so estranged from his only daughter that he doesn't know whether or not he has any grandchildren and claims that he isn't upset by that one bit.

I can't imagine. I love my kids so much....and I'm crazy about my grand kids. I guess that's his loss.

Wow, sounds like a bitter old man. I had an uncle like that, drank most of his life and screwed up his kids, then got sober and wouldn't have anything to do with them because they had issues.

I did read that he suffers with Aspergers ....so maybe that has something to do with it.
So sad...for both of them....he is 80 years old....
