ABC has canceled "Roseanne," hours after Roseanne Barr sent a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett

Statement by Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment: Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.
GOOD, now I can be proud~ish of ABC again
But prepare for the storm of Depolarables

Because of Roseanne the whole crew, now don't have jobs .....
She's never going to stop saying whats in her heart...maybe she can work for the pervert.
I guess she makes her family proud.....

I read about her racist tweet this morning and then when I was at the gym I watched CNN covering the story. I have zero sympathy for her. That tweet was disgusting. I'm sure her cast mates are not impressed. She's put people out of work.

they should have just written her off the show and kept the rest of the cast and crew!

She'll probably get a job at the White House, if not, maybe Fox would be happy to pick up her show.

Sweet justice.

Thinking..... While I give kudos to ABC for acting swiftly in firing Roseanne, I do think money is at the root of most things done in TV. ABC saw this as a mega-storm that would come...law suits, etc. Also the president of ABC is a black woman......not too smart on Roseanne's part with this knowledge in hand.I guess racism can make you stupid.

Roseanne is now the hero of the republican party, because she had the "guts" to say exactly what they are thinking every day of their miserable lives. The face of the republican party, so full of hate for anyone who looks, thinks or feels differently than they do.

I think she thought they would never cancel the show. I really wish they would have just written her off, but I'm sure it was contractual--that the show could not go on with out her. I think it would be much better without her...Jackie (laurie metcalf) would move in and step up to become the "mother" on the show and try to parent along with Dan (john goodman).

"Variety, citing multiple sources close to the situation, reported on Thursday that there have been preliminary discussions among producers about ways to keep the ensemble together without Barr. Three key producers, including co-star Sara Gilbert, could meet with ABC executives as soon as Friday, according to Variety. NBC News has not independently confirmed that report. Goodman, for his part, told the "Entertainment Tonight" videographer that he did not know anything about plans to salvage the series."

Cable will probably pick it up.
