Re: Feel good Story!

I can barely read or hear about this anymore. It's just heartbreaking. Please let there be a miracle and bring them all to safety.

Re: Feel good Story!

I wonder what possessed them to go into the cave and why the parents allowed it...but can't place blame at this point.  The coach that took them in is just 25--imagine the guilt he'll feel for the rest of his life. The important thing is to get them out now.

The boys and the coach have been able to write letters.  The boys have been asking for fried chicken and less homework when they get out and the coach has apologized to the parents.

Acknowledging his responsibility in his own missive to parents from the cave, he wrote: “All parents, all of the kids are fine. Staff here are taking care of the kids very well. I promise I will take care of the kids at best. Thank you for your kind support and I would like to say I’m really sorry to you all.”

Re: Feel good Story!

They probably didn't get permission to go into the cave from the parents...perhaps they had done it before...not sure though.

I guess they all miss their families...so sad....

Does anyone have any updates??....not much on the news, other than they were going to try to get them out this weekend....

When I started this thread, I called it "feel good story"  I was just happy that they had found them...At the time I didn't realize the nightmare that was still ahead for them...

Re: Feel good Story!

from CBS at 7:25 pm
Here at the cave site, there are signs they are preparing for what could be a rescue attempt. They've cleared the street that leads up to the cave, and put up a big green sign that warns about explosions and oxygen tanks. We don't know for sure what they are going to do but they are clearly going to do something.

Re: Feel good Story!

from the Guardian-1 min agoCave site evacuated "for rescue operation"Thai authorities have announced that the evacuation of the area has occurred so that a “rescue operation” can take place.“Assessing the situation now, it is necessary to evacuate the area for the rescue operation,” said Mae Sai police commander Komsan Sa-ardluan over a loudspeaker. “Those unrelated to the rescue operation, please evacuate the area immediately.” The announcement came as dark monsoon rainclouds loomed over the mountainous north of the country early on Sunday, potentially heightening risks at the cave where rescuers were still waging a “war with water and time” to save 12 trapped boys and their assistant coach.Officials also announced that during the operation no one is allowed to take photos and if any unsuitable photos come out the person will be held responsible.

Re: Feel good Story!

OMG!!! This makes me so nervous....I guess they are getting ready to make the attempt to move them....and they don't want any photos in case the results aren't good....

Those kids must be so scared....their families too...

Well currently there are prayers going out to all those involved from people all around the world on twitter. Not your "thoughts and prayers" that come from the White House.
