Serena

Serena went from being the top rated player to the bottom when she took maternity leave.  This has created quite a buzz and outrage in many circles.  I don't understand the game enough, but I don't quite understand how she would be able to keep her top rank when she didn't play.  Wouldn't the same thing happen in other sports?  Can someone make sense of it to me?

Re: Serena

I have no idea how she could maintain her standing if she didn't play...I don't know enough about it to try to make sense of it..

But in her defense ...she is an amazing player and now that she's back.....shes on top again...

Serena Williams is just one win away from equalling Margaret Court's record of 24 grand slam titles, with only Angelique Kerber standing between her and that much-deserved bit of history.
