Lindsey Wilkerson and Joel Alsup recently got married, their venue was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  They met each other as children while they were both being treated for cancer.  Lindsey went through almost 3 years of treatments for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Joel had his arm amputated because of a tumor.  They connected with each other and developed a deep friendship.  Twenty years later, while both working for St. Jude's, they found each other again,  they rekindled their friendship and later found that they were in love.  In Lindsey's words:  " I  have loved and admired him all of my life."  The feeling was mutual.
