'Empire' star Jussie Smollett attacked in possible hate crime.!!
Smollett has starred on Fox's "Empire" since 2015. He plays Jamal, a successful singer in the musical Lyon family. Like his character, Smollett identifies as gay.
He was attacked in the early morning hours on Tuesday in what Chicago police are calling a possible hate crime.Smollett was attacked by two people "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs" and "poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim," police said.
According to police, one of Smollett's alleged attackers also put a rope around his neck. Both fled the scene.Smollett took himself to Northwestern Hospital and "is in good condition,"

Jussie Smollett has a message for his supporters: "I'm OK."The "Empire" actor, whose statement was on Friday, said he was attacked in the early morning hours on Tuesday in what Chicago police are investigating as a possible hate crime.
Smollett addressed his statement to the "beautiful people.""Let me start by saying that I'm OK," the actor said. "My body is strong but my soul is stronger."
"More importantly I want to say thank you," Smollett said. "The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words."

Two men have been arrested in connection to an attack reported by "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett, the Chicago Police Department said today.
The men arrested were the same men that police previously said were being viewed as "potential suspects," according to Tom Ahern, Chicago police communications deputy director.
The men, who police said were arrested Wednesday, have not been charged.
Earlier today, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said two Nigerian brothers were being treated as "potential suspects" and that detectives had "probable cause that they may have been involved in an alleged crime."

Oh Nooooo....they are reporting that Jussie Smollett may have PAID these two men to attack him!!!!
Why would he do that??? He's so popular on the 'Empire' show....

In a statement released on Wednesday, Fox said it was standing by "Empire" star Jussie Smollett: "Jussie Smollett continues to be a consummate professional on set and as we have previously stated, he is not being written out of the show."
However, the latest update is that the police are now considering him to be a suspect, in this alleged crime....
so sad...I want to believe him, and would be terribly disappointed if he was involved....

“Empire” star Jussie Smollett has been charged with felony disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report about an attack that he said took place last month, The Chicago Tribune reports. Smollett was indicted tonight by an Illinois grand jury who found probable cause that Smollett staged the assault, according to The New York Times. Chicago PD spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed that the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges, adding that “detectives will make contact with his legal team to negotiate a reasonable surrender for his arrest.”
This hurts to the bone. What made him think he could possibly get away with this? I think his career is ruined. Poor guy, poor family.....

Smiley allegedly paid 2 people to attack him. The police investigation connected the dots as one of the men had worked as an extra on Empire. It is alleged that Smollett was unhappy with the salary he was making......so why didn't he get his agent to negotiate a better deal. If this is true he wasted the Chicago police forces time and he's done nothing to help the LGBTQ community.
