zeke, this one's for you, better late than never!  I don't know personally if this works though.  Lightly sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax on carpets and other floors and let sit for 24 hours, then just vacuum.  If you ever think you have fleas in your vacuum, put cut up pieces of a flea collar inside the bag.  Also read that Morton's un-iodized salt sprinkled on carpets would work, let sit three hours.  Hope these work.
