Cat Sitting
My friend went to Africa and we have her cat. We're into the third week and ready to jump off the Empire State Building.
He meows a guttural cry in the middle of the night. If we are walking he walks in front just to trip us up. He tries to sleep on our pillows on top of our heads. He sits on the key board when we are using the computer. He tries to run out the door, not knowing what he may be in for out there. He has bad breath. He sheds. OMG. I love animals so this is just not me.
This could be the end of a beautiful friendship.

Hey, it could be worse, years ago my Mother watched my brother's, girlfriend's pet and it passed away! Three weeks is way too long, in my opinion three days would be more than enough!

Well, I've learned my lesson. I'll offer to go in and feed the little beast but he will not set paw in my home again!

Don't blame you, I think it would be more comfortable in it's own home anyway, less stress for both of you.

sounds like a cat. LOL
cats usually prefer their own home with someone to come in and feed them, scoop the box, and play a little. (and cuddle if its that kind of cat) But that being said, everything you describe just sounds like a cat being a cat--love mine (named Purrl) to death but sometimes she drives me nuts.
Does your visitor have toys? maybe some play time would help?

He played a little with a bottle cap. I made a window space for him so he can sit there and look outside but most of the time he's just waiting for someone to come home. I do feel bad about finding him so annoying. I used to be a cat person but I now prefer to admire a cat from afar. He goes back home on Monday.
