Unfortunately, Mayor Pete has dropped out of the race! I hope he's on tap for a position with the next administration. Hate to see someone as smart as him dropping out, but this country is still so far behind the times I don't think he could ever get the votes.

sadly, I don't think he could have won but I'm heartbroken that he's dropped out. Maybe he will be tapped for VP?

I agree and hope that whomever is the nominee selects him at their VP. At 38 years old, those "OLDER" candidates in the race need someone like him on their team.
Tom Steyer, the billionaire former hedge-fund executive whose prolific campaign spending altered the Democratic primary and allowed him to persist in the race, also withdrew after an apparent third-place finish Saturday night in South Carolina

a Biden/Pete ticket might be something...

This is just one paragraph that Mayor Pete sent out to his supporters last night:
In a moment of deep division, we saw a rising American majority of Democrats, joined by Independents, and, yes, some of those future former Republicans, choose a politics defined not by who we push out, but by how many we call in; not by who we exclude, but by how we help people belong.
he's right on that! I know there are people that voted for Trump that are fed up with him and there are people who didn't vote at all in the last presidential election. Those are the people that need to feel comfortable with voting for the Democratic Nominee, comfortable with joining this fight. It's going to be a though fight no matter who is nominated. I just hope we can chose the one who can beat Trump. And whoever that is would be smart to have Pete in his administration. He's dropping out of this race leaving us wanting more. Smart guy! He won't be a has been, he'll be back.

Joe Biden would do well to ask Mayor Pete to be his VP. I know as a Canadian I really shouldn't be commenting, but he is so smart and educated and articulate. He would be such an asset in the WH.

Cleanspoons, please don't feel that you shouldn't give your opinion. We need to know what "the world" is thinking!

We are one world, especially in something like this.
I like Buttegieg but he's too risky. We need a strong winning ticket to get that guy out. Warren or Klobuchar would both be good but risky, too. I always remember McCain/Palin. I know Palin is nowhere near as smart as these two ladies but I don't think they can win.

If McCain had chosen someone else, he most likely would have won.....just my opinion. Sarah Palin is as dumb as a box of rocks. She went rogue, and not in a good way. Nicole Wallace wrote a book about her time working for John McCain and Sarah was crazy.

Yes, a running mate can make or break a candidate. I hope the Dem candidate is Biden and I hope he thinks long and hard about a running mate.
BTW.... The word is that DT will dump Pence in July. TeeHee.

I think that Trump is going to dump Pence for Nikki Haley. She's pretty much been kissing #45's big butt for months now. She's gunning for the VP position.
