CLOSED!! Supermarket Bottle Machines CLOSED!!!

Bottle redemption machines are mandated by the State of New York to remain open for public use at various food markets. They are a breeding ground for the coronavirus. Think about it...bottles and cans come from homes, handled by who knows who, most unwashed, thrown in shopping carts in big plastic bags, (where we put our groceries)  thrown in nasty machines that are unsanitary.....and the worse.
In NY, they are still open and people are working in those enclosed rooms (some), many who can't object to working there because they need those hourly wage jobs.
Connecticut has closed its bottle rooms.
Why hasn't NY?
The people who work in those rooms do not have the where-with-all or representation to fight this policy at the state level.
This should not happen!!!  CLOSE THE BOTTLE ROOMS!!!
I suggest we all look within our own communities to see if this is happening in yours. If so, let's make voices heard at the state level to close those rooms.
I have already contacted a civil rights atty, provided him with the Union information he needs to look into this matter.
We have to protect each other........we can't assume the government will look out for us.

Re: CLOSED!! Supermarket Bottle Machines CLOSED!!!

It's about the money. Otherwise wouldn't this be a no-brainer?
Next time you go to the store, look to see who is working in those rooms. The guy I saw yesterday had no gloves, no mask.

Also..........why can't cashiers have stools to sit or lean on? I see older people AND younger people struggling at registers. They end up with bad backs, foot problems, and more. Why can't they have some support?
Would any of us want to stand for 8 hours? Or more? Or even 4 hours???

THE BOTTLE ROOMS ARE CLOSED. At least the ones I know about: Stop and Shop in NY.
I'm so tired. It worries me that our country is in this state. A terrible Congress and a horrible president. Don't mean to be a Debbie-Downer but we're in deep
THIS IS GOOD NEWS.
